Ahead of the IWC Gayndah Health and Wellbeing Centre reopening later this year, the stadium roof, which has significantly deteriorated over time, has been replaced.
The centre has been exposed to past destructive weather events and flooding, and after receiving a grant from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund late in 2022, IWS was able to start prioritising the necessary repairs to keep the facility in the “best condition possible”.

According to the IWC website, the $2.43 million multipurpose centre, which opened in 2021, was established to create a “community hub” which provides “services and initiatives to all people across the North Burnett region.”

The repairs, which begun at the beginning of 2023, will focus on “bringing high-quality infrastructure to the region,” with IWS aiming to demonstrate their “long-term commitment to the region’s health and wellbeing”.
The stadium was envisioned “as an asset for the community, hosting events, movie screenings, sports days, and other activities to strengthen and unite our community,” IWC’s spokesperson said.
