FOUR of Gayndah's most enthusiastic indoor bowls players travelled to Maryborough at the weekend to take out a five-game day at Granville Indoor Bowls Club.
Kit George, Beryl Palmer, Muriel Glover and Leo Taticek formed a team and beat out competitors who travelled hundreds of kilometres to play.
"We competed against 16 teams from Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Gympie and the Sunshine Coast,” Mrs Palmer said.
"The Gayndah team came out winning the day in first place which was great, it was a really lovely day.”
The indoor bowls players have been getting plenty of practise at their weekly RSL Indoor Bowls nights in Gayndah.
On October 18 the local competition was taken out by Rita Alsemgeest who scored 50 points.
Lyn miller was close behind on 48 points followed by Rene Taylor on 46.
Other Scores were Rita Davis (42), Leo Taticek (38), Maria Hunt (38), Beryl palmer (38), Muriel Glover (38), Rob Miller (36), Joy Thompson (32) and Dawn Sullivan (28).
Gayndah's RSL Indoor Bowls held their consistency night on October 25 when Philip Grambower bowled a score of 168.
Greg Leaf came in second on 164 and Beryl palmer third on 157.
Other scores were Leo Taticek (152), Rita Davis (141), Rita Alsemgeest (138), Rene Taylor (137), Boyd Baker (134), Muriel Glover (123), Sandra Stott (123), Dawn Sullivan (122).
