WHILE executives in the boardroom are working around the clock to finalise a landmark merger, construction at the Goondicum mine site outside Monto is progressing nicely.
Roughly $10 million was budgeted to be spent on "restart activities” during the preproduction period.
Melior Resources' latest update to investors confirmed the project, which includes procurement and construction activity, was 77 per cent complete.
Just shy of 14,000 man-hours have ben worked to date and construction remains on budget and on schedule for the operation to resume in November.
Melior chief executive Mark McCauley said no time had been lost and there were no safety or environmental incidents to report.
"The site is looking fantastic and the project remains on track for start of production in November,” he said.
"An experienced operations team is starting to assemble on site with detailed planning of the soon to be commenced commissioning process being the focus for the team.”
The next project update is expected to come in early November.
