WITH the school holidays fast approaching, now is the time to start planning some Christmas activities and events for the whole family to enjoy.
Here’s our outline of everything festive that’s happening in the North Burnett:
Gayndah Anglican Christmas Fete
On December 4, the Anglican Church in Meyer Street are having a Christmas fete with food, a licensed bar and ham wheel.
The celebrations start at 5:30pm and there will also be a visit from the big man in red.
Mundubbera Christmas in the Park
From 5pm – 9pm on December 4, Mundubbera are having their annual Christmas in the Park event.
There will be food, market stalls, a cent sale, kids activities and a live nativity scene.
Live entertainment will also be featured with Bruce Rowbotham performing at 6pm, carols and Santa coming on at 6:45pm and Janette Schulte at 7:30pm.
At 7:30pm the kids movie ‘Farmageddon’ will be played on the big screen at 7:30 behind the Library.
The Burnett Christmas pop-up shop will also be open until 7pm on the night.
Eidsvold Santa Fair
The Eidsvold Santa Fair will be hosted at Apex Park and will kick off from 5pm on Saturday December 5.
The fair will include ham and chicken wheel draws, stalls, raffles, food, drinks, dessert and most importantly, a visit from Santa.
The fair will be run by The Lions Club and they are encourage local community groups to provide free entertainment if they wish.
Biggenden Women’s Shed Christmas Markets
The Biggenden Women’s Shed are running a Christmas market on December 5 from 9am – 1pm.
The market will be held at the Biggenden Memorial Hall where there will be raffles, a sausage sizzle and tea and coffee.
This is one of the many places to shop locally this Christmas.
Mundubbera Carols in the Park
On Tuesday December 15, there will be a carols night at Bicentennial Park from 6pm onwards.
Food and drink stalls will be available and the carols will be sung by local Churches and community groups.
Also on the night, the winner of the Christmas lights competition will be announced and the ‘Buy local this Christmas’ prizes will be drawn.
Mount Perry Santa in the Park
From 5pm on Saturday December 19, Mount Perry are hosting a Santa in the Park event at Maynard Park.
There will be a sausage sizzle, free lollies, watermelon and icy poles.
Also, it wouldn’t be Santa in the Park without Santa, who arrives at 6pm.
The winner of the Christmas lights competition will be announced and the Sport and Recreation club are advising locals bring along blankets and chairs.
Biggenden Christmas Carols Evening
On Sunday December 20, Biggenden are hosting a carols evening on the lawn of St Peter’s Catholic Church.
The event will go from 6pm – 7pm and residents are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
