MUNDUBBERA Bowls Club has received a boost after being named the recipient of this year's first round of Guardian Pharmacy Mundubbera's Community Privileges Granted Fund.
The club received $300 in order to buy a new chest freezer.
The Community Privileges Granted Fund was started last year by Guardian Pharmacy store owners Graham and Sam Rowles and is also run at Guardian Pharmacy Gayndah.
Customers are given a token with every purchase in the pharmacy (excluding prescriptions) to place in one of two community jars.
The club or organisation with the most tokens at the end of the quarter is presented with a cheque.
Purchases from the Chemists' Own or Pharmacy Care ranges earn two tokens.
Mundubbera retail manager Julie Oppermann said the initiative was evidence of the pharmacy's motto in action.
"Our slogan is, 'Share in our love of locals',” she said.
Mrs Oppermann said the fund would operate a little differently in Mundubbera this quarter, as staff had made a collective decision they would be benefiting Mundubbera Kindergarten, which is hosting a gala ball fundraiser on June 1 after it had to reduce its days of operation.
Any not-for-profit organisations in Gayndah or Mundubbera can nominate for the fund at their Guardian Pharmacy.
