ALTHOUGH the annual sports day was cancelled due to dry weather, the Dallarnil Sports Club have achieved much in the past 12 months.

President Roslyn Buczma said this was a difficult decision but on the positive side the club achieved many improvement to the sportsground and facilities.

"It's been a productive year with the majority of funds coming from pop-up kitchen nights,” she said.

"From this fundraising a variety of items were purchased from a deep fryer to a tractor and slasher and garden shed plus shirts to wear on pop-up nights.”

Ms Buczma said the canteen was upgraded with gas hot water system and deep fryer connection as well as cages for the gas bottles and to secure the hot water system.

"A revamp of the hall was started with the help of funds from the late Des Berrie,” she said.

"Roofing material has arrived and we are waiting on the cooler weather to complete the job.”

Dallarnil Sports Club sponsored three clubs this year including NBHA district 2 and 7 and the cutting club.

Ms Buczma said due to the success of a Small Halls Grant the club ran a Nathan Wilson training day.

"With a Get Going Clubs grant we purchased a zero turn mower,” she said.

"The club was also heavily involved in the running of a drought night to raise much needed funds for farmers.”

Ms Buczma congratulated the committee for volunteering their time and many hours of hard work to make this year a successful one.

"Please know you are all valued and appreciated,” she said.

Incoming committee is president Ros Buczma, vice president Bevan Wesener; secretary Kate Strathde and treasurer Di Scholl.
