The North Burnett Regional Council continued to face ongoing financial struggles in 2023, with a tight 2023/2024 budget bringing a five per cent rate rise to the region after an audit revealed the council struggled to manage finances.

Despite this, the council is aiming to tackle the housing crisis which continues to impact much of the state and the country.

As the 2024 local council elections approach, take a moment to reflect on the work being done by the North Burnett council and have your say.

Do you think the North Burnett Regional Council did enough to support local farmers?

Is enough being done to future proof the North Burnett region as infrastructure costs rise?

Are you excited about the future of the North Burnett and feel the councillors are leading the region in the right direction?

And, crucially, do you feel represented within your division and on a regional level?

Now is your chance to deliver your report card on their performance on a scale of A to E, with ‘A’ the choice if you think they have done a great job and ‘E’ if their performance has been found wanting.

Voting will be open until midnight Wednesday, January 10.
