Speaking to a room full of supporters, local business owners and community members at Ward’s Brewery in Gladstone, Mr Boyce outlined his vision for the Flynn electorate, a press release from his office read on Friday.

“Cost of living pressures is the number one issue I hear from people of all walks of life around the Flynn electorate,” he said in the statement.

“The LNP have a plan to fight cost of living pressures. By getting inflation down and alleviating household cost pressures, our standard of living can be restored, and Australians can get ahead.

“A plan to protect jobs and businesses in traditional local industries like mining and resources, heavy industry and agriculture that are under threat from Labor and the Greens.

“A plan to back small business as the key driver of economic growth and security. This is why we have already committed to extending the value of assets eligible for instant write-off to $30,000, for firms with annual turnover up to $10 million.

“A plan to immediately fix the housing crisis. Through our plan, we will free up more than 100,000 homes in the next five years and will unlock up to 500,000 new homes through new infrastructure funding. We will rebalance our migration program to relieve pressure on housing and community services.

“A plan to grow our GP workforce, because a strong pipeline of homegrown doctors is critical to increasing the number of bulk billing GPs. The LNP’s $400 million commitment will incentivise junior doctors to train in general practice to help fill shortages in rural and regional areas.

“I have a track record of standing up for what’s right in the Flynn electorate. This includes successfully advocating for the reinstatement of maternity services at Gladstone Hospital, stopping Labor’s ‘fresh food tax’ and ensuring our region gets its fair share of funding.
