MONEY raised from the biennial Eidsvold Charity Cattle Drive is normally donated to LifeFlight, the Royal Flying Doctors and the Burnett Lodge.
But this year the committee identified another cause in the community in need of financial support.
Many of the grandstands at the Eidsvold Showground were looking tired after years of serving the various clubs and events that make use of them.
So the Eidsvold Charity Cattle Drive committee donated three new ones.
"The reason we do the cattle drive is to help the community,” organiser Roslyn Payne said.
"It's just what you do in these little places.”
The stands are now in place, ready for Eidsvold's Golden Bell Campdraft on Saturday, April 13.
"They are portable, with the idea in mind that they can be shifted and used at any event held by polocross, campdraft, football, show society, cattle drive, pony club and other schools held on the grounds,” chairman Bruce Tye said.
"The ECCD would like to acknowledge the generous support of the builders Paul Lindenmayer of Craiglea, along with Duncan and Don Stewart of Glencoe.
"We also thank local carriers Geoff and Bronwyn Forte for their continued and generous support with transport of the stands.”
The committee is now working hard to organise the next cattle drive which will be held on from April 11-18, 2020.
"We look forward to the continued support of our many sponsors as well as all members of the North Burnett community,” Mr Tye said.
