Jordanna Olsen of Conquer Fitness Kingaroy has been named the Burnett’s best personal trainer, taking out 31 per cent of the vote in our reader poll.
The 30-year-old mother of two began her fitness journey a decade ago, after battling weight loss issues throughout her life.
“I started my own weight loss journey probably 10 years ago, as I’ve always been a larger girl,” Jordanna said.
Throughout her adulthood she battled polycystic ovary syndrome and foresaw a future of weight related health issues which ran in her family.
She began her health and fitness journey with Conquer Fitness before quickly developing a passion for the industry.
“I really fell in love with fitness and education and just wanted to help other people,” she said.
Mrs Olsen began hosting group fitness classes six years ago and after completing a Certificate 3 and 4 in Fitness moved onto personal training.
Through the support of the gym she has been able to upskill in a number of health and fitness services from strength training to weight loss.
She credited the gym with providing her constant support on her fitness journey, where she has gone from attendee to trainer.
When Mrs Olsen was told she had been voted 2023 Best of the Burnett Personal Trainer, she said she was “shocked” but believed her own health and weight loss journey was a key part of what made her so approachable as a trainer.
“Because I am a bigger trainer, people have that faith in me because they are a little bit more comfortable. I understand the battles that comes with weight loss,” she said.
“It’s just really nice to be able to support them where they need to be supported.”
