Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) services are currently on scene at a bushfire burning in Pile Gully State Forest, south west of Gayndah.

A QFES spokesperson said the fire is currently posing no threat to surrounding property.

“It’s burning near the intersection of Nipping Gully Road and Pile Gully Road,” the spokesperson said.

Local firefighters are working with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service crews to contain the blaze.

QFES is warning that nearby residents may be affected by smoke.

“Close your windows and doors and if you suffer from respiratory conditions keep your medications close,” the spokesperson said.

QFES advises motorists to drive with caution around the area and if your property is under threat, call Triple-0 (000) immediately.
