GAYNDAH Golf Club's green was a sea of pink and blue today as players from around the region came out in droves to have a hit for a good cause.
Almost 70 players signed up to compete in the Think Pink and Blue Day, raising money for organisations that promote and support men and women's health.
Designed for social golfing of all levels, the tournament is a 3-person Ambrose.
"It started many moons ago and Regan Clibborn was the instigator," Gayndah Golf Club President Mick Coulson said.
"She used to run a Think Pink Day for breast cancer and I used to run a Movember Day for prostate cancer, and after a couple of years we decided to merge the two."
Coulson both causes hit home for most of the golfers who get behind the day.
"It most definitely strikes a chord with the players," he said.
"Everyone has a story somewhere along the line, whether they've experienced cancer themselves or they have a family member or friend who has been affected.
It's about raising awareness of them."
Resources where available for those in attendance to become more educated about prostate and breast cancer.
Think Pink supports hundred of breast cancer patients and their families each year and aims to continue doing so by having a Living Centre facility established in every capital city in Australia.
Australian Prostate Cancer is an organisation established to assist with the funding of vital medical research into the detection and treatment of prostate cancer.
