Centenary Bridge incident causes major peak hour congestion

Motorists are facing delays in excess of an hour after an incident blocked lanes on the Centenary Hwy at Jindalee. Meanwhile a crash on the Gateway Mwy is causing long delays.

A crash in southwest Brisbane is causing delays of up to an hour for city-bound commuters on the Centenary Hwy.

The crash happened on Jindalee Bridge in Jindalee about 7am, blocking the left lane.

Police and towing were on scene by 7.20pm however lengthy delays are expected as traffic continues to build back to the Ipswich Motorway.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said they have not been called to the scene.

As of 7.35am, inbound traffic was very slow moving back to Richlands.

Meanwhile, a three-car crash on the Gateway is causing up to 30 minute delays for northbound commuters.

Emergency services were called to the crash on the Gateway Motorway off-ramp at Tingalpa about 7.20am.

All patients are in a stable condition.

As of 7.50pm, northbound commuters were experiencing 30 minute delays, with traffic backed up to Rochedale.
