More than 14,000 properties south of Brisbane were without power on Friday night as Energex crews rush to establish the cause of the outage.
The outage, primarily in Logan, was reported about 7.50pm.
The number of affected customers peaked about 8.15pm with over 14,200 customers without power, before that number reduced to 7,791 about 8.30pm.
Suburbs most affected included Rochedale South with 2667 affected, Springwood with 2616 affected, and Underwood with 1644 affected.
An Energex spokesman confirmed that crews were aware of the incident and rushing to provide power to affected customers.
The spokesman said crews did a fantastic job to get people ‘back online’ so quickly, with crews back-feeding electricity from other electricity sources to re-establish power to majority of the area.
By 8.40pm all areas originally affected were back online, but the cause of the outrage remained unclear.
The spokesman said given the suburb of Rochedale South was the last to resume power, an incident in that area was the likely source.
Crews will continue there investigation until the cause is established.
