Car towing trolleys bursts into flames at shopping centre

A utility vehicle towing shopping trolleys at a suburban Brisbane shopping centre went up in flames on Saturday afternoon.

A vehicle used to tow trolleys at a suburban shopping centre went up in flames on Saturday evening, sending a large plume of smoke into the sky.

Authorities were called to Sunnybank Plaza around 5pm to reports of a vehicle fire in the carpark.

They found the utility vehicle, which was towing shopping trolleys at the time, well alight.

No one was injured in the blaze and it was quickly extinguished.

Local Willie Yeo took to social media to share an image of the incident and said that the smell of smoke lingered for some time.

“I left at 6:45, the covered carpark still smells from smoke,” he said.

The cause of the fire was not known Saturday night.
