A Brisbane woman was lucky to escape serious injury after she accidentally crashed her car through the roof of a neighbouring home.
Emergency crews worked to free the driver of a car and the car itself, after the dramatic Kenmore crash on Tuesday afternoon.
A Queensland Police spokesman confirmed the car crashed into the home at Kersley Rd at about 5pm.
“The female driver was uninjured but the car needed to be stabilised before she could be accessed,” a spokesman said.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said it took an hour for the woman to be freed from the vehicle.
“The roof is not destroyed, just damaged,” a QFD spokesman said.
The car was craned out of the home about 7.30pm after the scene was secured.
One neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, said her daughter heard a loud bang and they ran to the scene when they heard multiple sirens.
“The street was filled with emergency service crews trying to free the lady in the car,” the neighbour said.
“I felt so sorry for her, thank goodness she wasn’t badly injured.”
Police investigations into the crash are continuing.
