Car bursts into flames after driver allegedly spotted driving erratically during peak hour traffic

A car allegedly spotted being driven erratically during peak hour traffic bursts into flames on a highway north of Brisbane late Thursday.

A car has burst into flames heading south on the Bruce Highway after police said it was seen swerving at traffic north of Brisbane on Thursday.

The car was reported driving erratically just before 5pm when it crashed into a barrier and burst into flames near the Anzac Ave exit at North Lakes.

The blaze was quickly put out but traffic was impacted in the area.

Paramedics attended but no one was taken to hospital.

Police remained in the area directing traffic and were now investigating the circumstances leading to the crash.
