MOTORISTS are being warned of traffic delays along the Pacific Motorway this afternoon after the closure of one of the city’s major bridges.
All northbound lanes on the Pacific Motorway after exit two in Woolloongabba are currently closed, causing long traffic delays.
The delays are being caused by roadworks on the Captain Cook Bridge and congestion is heavy between Exit 5 at Greenslopes and Exit 2 at Woolloongabba.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads is urging motorists to use alternative routes.
During the closure, tolls will be waived for motorists only travelling northbound on the Go-Between Bridge and in the Clem 7 tunnel.
As motorists travel along the Pacific Motorway, they should follow diversions, turning left into Stanley St.
The alternative route then goes along Vulture St and Cordelia St before motorists can either go over the William Jolly bridge or the Go Between bridge.
The northbound lanes of the Captain Cook bridge are to be reopened at 5am on Monday.
If your heading to the Northern or Western Suburbs. Diversions are Stanley St, Vulture St, Cordelia St, Peel St, William Jolly Bridge, Skew St, Upper Roma St, Roma St, Ann St. Motorists may use Montague Road and the Go-Between Bridge (toll free)after Cordelia St #Bnetraffic
