Cairns fatal crash: Emergency crews on scene at Kewarra Beach

A young man has died after the car he was in flipped and rolled off a Far North Queensland highway.

A man has died in a single-vehicle crash in Far North Queensland.

Police say the man, 29, of Bayview Heights, was killed when the Mazda sedan he was driving left the Captain Cook Hwy, at Kewarra Beach, in Cairns, and rolled into a ditch about 3.15pm on Wednesday.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews used the jaws of life to free the man but sadly he died at the scene.

Police investigations are continuing into the crash, and anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage, are urged to come forward.
