Queensland government under 'enormous pressure' over hospital ramping

Caboolture Hospital has taken the extraordinary step of setting up a dedicated hotline for anyone who wishes to discuss their treatment following bombshell allegations that patients are dying as a result of botched surgeries and substandard care.

Metro North released a statement today saying it was confident in the safety and quality of care at Caboolture Hospital following allegations made in Monday’s Courier-Mail by former and current staff that included patients being harmed by botched surgeries, in some cases causing death, a toxic culture of bullying and a staff member assaulting a patient.

“Caboolture Hospital patients and members of the community are advised that a dedicated hotline has been established for anyone who has concerns and wishes to discuss their treatment,” the statement said.

“Patient safety is Metro North Health’s highest priority and all patient feedback is taken seriously.”

Patients of Caboolture Hospital can call 07 3647 9559 between 8am – 5pm, 7 days a week.

Callers can leave a voicemail with their return contact number if the phone line is busy and they will be phoned back as soon as possible, the statement said.

It comes as Caboolture Hospital bosses told staff on Monday they were grappling with “cultural issues” at the hospital during an urgent crisis meeting.
