The family of a grandmother who was killed in a horrific crash that left another dead and a one-year-old fighting for life have shared a touching tribute, saying she was the most “caring, loving and selfless” person.

Cecilia Tuivasa, 50 and another woman aged 35 died after the Hyundai they were passengers in and a Coles delivery truck collided about 6.40pm on Sunday night at the corner of King Street and Bellmere Road.

The child who was also in the car was seriously injured and rushed to hospital.

However the 26-year-old driver suffered only minor injuries and the truck driver, 42, was not injured but taken to hospital as a precaution.

Cecilia’s daughter, Taylar Tuivasa-Lyne told the Courier Mail her mum had a huge heart and so much love to give.

“Not only to her family but to strangers as well,” she said.

“She’s helped men and women around her community by always opening her home to them for hot food and showers.

“She was loud, silly and loved to have fun. She was the most beautiful, caring, loving and selfless person I know.

Ms Tuivasa-Lyne said she had the best mother and grandma.

“Her grandchild will miss her and the chance for her to watch them grow,” she said.

“There are so many memories it’s hard to say one but I will always remember when my siblings and I were young we had our mattresses in the lounge because we were moving house and we had a black out due a storm, we all went looking for our mum but she was already outside at the window trying to scares us.

“We were so scared until we realised it was her. My 3 boys love that story and talk about it when there’s a storm.”

A GoFundMe created to help the family with funeral costs for their mother has already raised more than $16,000.

CCTV footage from a home on King St showed a vehicle moving at speed seconds before the impact which pushed the car 15m.

People could then be seen running out from their homes to help as passing cars slowed or stopped.

One couple who lived near the intersection said the collision rocked their house.

“It literally shook the house,” they said.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Police are asking anyone who saw the incident or who might have dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
