A Gold Coast woman has been hit with a huge fine after being caught on camera with her phone stuffed in her bra.

Jenny Pilz took to the Phone and Seatbelt Detection Camera Locations Queensland Facebook page on Friday to complain about the fine and ask if it could be challenged.

“Hello, I’ve been fined for “resting my phone on my body”,” she told the page’s 35,000-plus members.

“Unfortunately, I did what many females do, and carried my phone in my bra lol. Parts of it have been visible and the camera caught it.

“Has anyone had this happen to them and is there any point fighting it? I don‘t think it’s clear that it’s a phone, could be a wallet or something else. I had both of my hands on my steering wheel.

“4 (demerit) points just really hurt not to even mention the $1078 fine..”

The post has attracted dozens of comments, with many people saying Ms Pilz should challenge the fine.

One woman posted: “I got fined for this exact thing.”

Another person posted a copy of Queensland road rules stating that open and P2 licence holders could use a mobile phone hands-free if it’s in a clothing pocket or a pouch.

“I‘m struggling to work out how a phone down a woman’s bra is any different than a phone in a jeans pocket (which is perfectly legal),” one man posted.

But another said: “When are the rules going to sink in (?) NO part of the body can be touching the phone at any time, you just got 1078 reasons to put it in the glovebox.”

Ms Pilz responded: “I honestly didn’t know. Handheld and lap was clear to me, in my bra wasn’t.”

One man suggested Ms Pilz should buy herself a phone cradle: “then you (have) no need to worry about touching your phone and a fine”.

Another man joked with laughing emojis: “Sounds like she has a natural cradle.”

“I do!,” Ms Pilz responded with a laughing emoji of her own.

“Big enough to give a home to keys, phone, smokes and other essentials.”
