Bushfire threatens multiple Fraser Coast homes, cuts major road

A large bushfire has cut a major road between Maryborough, putting a number of communities on notice to prepare to leave.

Fire crews are working to contain a blaze burning near Sunshine Acres and Walligan on the Fraser Coast.

The warning advice has been downgraded to stay informed, but residents have been told to remain up to date with the latest information.

The fire is burning near Baxters Rd, Settlers Rd and Honeyeater Drive.
