What to expect at Bundaberg’s Bulldogs v Cowboys NRL match

From meet and greet to food and merch, if you scored a ticket to the big NRL clash between the Bulldogs and Cowboys in Bundy this weekend, our bumper guide can help you navigate your way, and if you didn’t grab a ticket, you can still meet the players. Here’s what you need to know:

If you’ve scored one of the hottest tickets in town but don’t have a clue how things will run on the day, have no fear.

We’ve created the ultimate guide to help you navigate your way at Salter Oval when the North Queensland Cowboys take on the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs this Sunday in Bundaberg. Check our list below:

Tickets and admission

Tickets to the game are sold out.

Gates will open at 10:30am Sunday for Bundaberg Rugby Leagues' semi-final curtain raiser.

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and the North Queensland Cowboys game kicks off at 2pm.

The Bundaberg Rugby League Clubhouse and Bundaberg Cricket Association clubhouses are strictly for VIP ticket holders only.

The main grandstand and temporary grandstands are for premium ticket holders only.

General admission tickets are standing only.

Patrons are expected to leave the venue by 5pm.

Parking

Two limited parking options will be available at the venue, run by the SES for a gold coin donation.

Access will be via Avoca Street and Walker Street.

Designated areas for disability parking will be identified by SES volunteers.

Taxi services will be available to get to and from the game.

Meet and Greets and Captain’s Run

The Captain’s Run will take place on Saturday, August 6, at Salter Oval from 11am to 12:30pm.

Meet and greets with Bulldogs players will follow the run.

Merchandise

A range of merchandise will be available for purchase at the Captain’s Run on Saturday, August 6 and during the match on Sunday.

What you can bring

Disability support items and assistance animals are allowed into the event.

What you can’t bring

Chairs, tables, eskies and umbrellas, scooters, bikes, skateboards and pets are not allowed.

Bags can not exceed 40cm in height, 30cm in height and 30cm in length.

Oversized banners and flags which may cause public nuisance are also not allowed.

Food, drinks and ATM

Food vendors will be on hand offering a wide range of products and can be found at all four corners of Salter Oval.

Patrons will need to purchase alcohol tickets from dedicated ticket booths around the venue, which can be used at either of the four bar areas near each food vendor.

One ATM will be located for use behind the main grandstand.

Smoking areas

There will be two dedicated smokers areas within the venue.

One smokers area will be situated near the entry gate at White Street and the other will be located near the Salter Oval carpark.

Toilets

Disability toilets will be located at four different locations at both ends of the large grandstands.

Portable toilets will also be on offer for ticket holders, which will be located at both ends of the premium sideline seating on the south east end of the venue.

Road closures

White Street and Payne Street will be closed from 6am to 8pm on game day.

Police and security

Officers will be present throughout the match and a dedicated policing site will be set up at the grounds.

First Aid

First aid will be located across from the onsite parking accessible via Walker Street.
