UPDATE:
GLEN Pring may be vying for Father of the Year as he prepares to create a second backyard waterslide for his five children using Bundaberg's well-known slide.
Mr Pring lives on an acerage in Guanaba in the Gold Coast hinterland.
"I'm going to put it in the backyard for the kids," Mr Pring said.
Mr Pring purchased the former Coral Isles Karts and Amusements slide from Bundaberg man Neil Irvine who recently purchased the property and took to Facebook, listing the slide for sale for $1000 for removal.
"You will be required to remove to remove at your own expense," Mr Irvine wrote in his Facebook post.
Mr Pring said this wasn't his first waterslide purchase or dismantle and said he'd chased another slide up previously which was now setup in his backyard for his kids aged four to 14.
"So I just wanted something to add to it, to make it a bit longer," Mr Pring said.
"It's the same sort of thing, it was the old Amazons in Brisbane."
Mr Pring said he wasn't worried about getting council approval for the new slide.
"It's easy, it's fine," he said.
"It (the backyard waterslide) won't be as high as that," he said, pointing to the former Coral Isles Karts and Amusements slide he is in the process of dismantling.
"I'm going to make it a lot lower, we live on a hill so we don't need it that high."
Mr Pring said his backyard design will be "something similar" to the Coral Isles Karts and Amusements setup which he had already spray painted a pink number onto each piece to easy putting it back together.
"I've been in the construction industry for 25 years, it's just a big Micano set," he said.
"That's the way I look at it."
The ambitious father said he didn't pay the $1000 asking price for the slide, rather "made a bit of a deal" with Mr Irvine in payment for the slide.
"Stuff that I had, he wanted," Mr Pring said.
"(I paid) for bits and pieces."
