‘Bloody grubs’: Shock attack on car at Qld McDonald’s drive-thru

A woman has been left stunned after two “grubs” launched a shocking late-night attack on her car at a popular regional Queensland drive-thru.

Video footage has captured the moment when two men charged the car at a Bundaberg McDonald’s outlet and doused it in an unidentified liquid, sparking a furious response one of its occupants and leaving residents in uproar.

The footage, shared on Facebook by Greg Janson, showed two men, one wearing a local jersey from a well-known Bundaberg Sports Club, rushed the vehicle as it stopped at a McDonald’s drive-thru at Bundaberg at 10.49pm Monday night.

As it pulled up the first of the two men ran towards the vehicle and poured what appeared to be cups of liquid on the front bonnet and windscreen.

The female passenger of the car wound her window down to throw something at the two men before she tried to chase them down.

In the process of getting out of the car, the woman threw the door open which appeared to bounce back and hit her in the head.

The young woman appeared double over in pain but got back in the car shortly after.

The men ran away and the car swiftly drove off in the same direction.

It is not clear if the men, and the car’s occupants, were know to each other.

On Tuesday police said they were not aware of any reports made about the incident.

The original poster of the video was approached for comment.

The video’s sharing on social media sparked outrage with many noting the prevalence of similar vile behaviour in the region

Online police data has revealed about 620 offences are committed on average every month in the Bundaberg region.

Among the hundreds of comments posted online, one said McDonald’s needed more security guards,

“This is not the first incident that I have seen at maccas”, they said.

“Look after your customers”.

Residents online have raised concerns over the prevalence of these incidents in the community. Some calling for more security.
