Unusual baby names revealed by Bundaberg mums and dads

What’s in a name? Whatever feels special to each parent, is the correct answer. We asked mums, dads, aunties and uncles what the most unique baby names in Bundaberg are and it’s quite the list!

While there is debate over unique baby names - some love them, some don’t, there's no denying that many of the names that are now popular would probably not have started out being as common.

We asked readers to let us know their most creative names and there was a great response.

Mione

Mione Haak self-nominated. It's a Greek name meaning small, which she said came from a 1970s book of unique baby names her family owned, “before the trend”.

Taleah-Lochee

There's a special historical significance to this name for Pam Grice.

She said she chose it because her daughter‘s great-great grandparents immigrated to Australia on the Lochee.

Pronounced Keeley, Sharon Zillman went for a fresh spelling.

Munroe

Karen Osborn‘s granddaughter is named after her maiden name.

Lyric

Tash Jurd has three girls - Drew, Bree and Lyric.

For Isla Pohlman-Fischer, she went for a name that‘s rarely heard of in Australia.
