Trent McRae charged in Bundaberg alleged hit and run death
A second man charged over the alleged high-speed hit and run death of Qld cyclist Matty Nilsen at Bundaberg has faced court for the first time since his arrest.

A second man charged over the alleged fatal hit and run crash which killed Bundaberg cyclist Matty Nilsen on April 29 has not made a bid for bail at his first court appearance.
Trent-David Lionel McRae was arrested and charged by police on Tuesday for his alleged involvement in the shocking crash which killed the 34-year-old Nilsen on Tuesday, April 29.
Police have alleged a black Hyundai IX35 and a maroon Holden Calais were both travelling at speed along Takalvan St through Millbank when the Hyundai struck the Bundaberg Central man while he was riding his bike about 7.50pm.
Mr Nilsen died at the scene, and the two vehicles allegedly fled.
The first man, 21-year-old Lachlan Carver, was arrested by the police on May 1.
Mr Carver is alleged to have been the driver of the Hyundai which struck Mr Nilsen.
Police said in a statement Tuesday they arrested the alleged driver of the Holden, Mr McRae, on Monday.
Mr McRae has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death, dangerous operation of a vehicle, evasion offence, breach of bail, and two counts of learning to drive must be properly supervised in a motor vehicle.

The 22-year-old was supported in court by his family, while Mr Nilsen’s mother was also in attendance.
Mr McRae’s barrister, Jennifer Walden, asked the matter be adjourned to allow for a brief of evidence be prepared.
It was adjourned to Friday, May 23 for further mention.
No application for bail was made and his attendance in court was excused.
Mr Carver has been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death while speeding.
The 21-year-old did not apply for bail and he was remanded in custody and the matter was adjourned until July 13.
