Bundaberg Major Jack Dempsey, Queensland Touch Football Event Manager Charlie Griffiths and Queensland Touch Football Brand Ambassador Scott Prince were present to officially open the event.

The Give Touch a Try Beach Showcase, held at the Bundaberg Surf Life Saving Club in Nielson’s Beach proved an exciting start to the event.

Mr Griffiths said Queensland Touch was excited to see the event return to Bundaberg.

“It’s great to be able to showcase the sport and our events outside of the main southeast Queensland sector,” he said.

“Bringing something to a regional area to promote, provide support and resources is an amazing experience.”

The annual event has proven more and more popular every year, with numbers constantly growing even with Covid-19 impacting sporting in the past few years.

The competition will take place at the Greg Duncan Touch Fields between Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5.

Games will begin on Saturday at 8am with final presentations held on Sunday at 1:50pm and 3pm.
