QCWA Biggenden Branch president Diane MacDonald presented long-serving member Thelma Fanning with a surprise honorary life membership at the branch meeting on Monday.
Mrs Fanning, 84, joined the branch in 1985 and has held the positions of president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer during her membership.
She also cleaned the branch rooms for many years and still handles bookings for the building.
Noted for her cooking, Mrs Fanning still wins prizes for her plum puddings and jams, and is always ready to give tips to less-experienced cooks.
Mrs Fanning said she was honoured to accept the tribute, and plans to continue her involvement in the future.
