Teen airlifted after car swerves to avoid hitting roo on Bruce Hwy

A LifeFlight rescue helicopter airlifted a seriously injured teenager after a car carrying six people crashed on the Bruce Highway at Monduran.

A LifeFlight rescue helicopter airlifted a seriously injured teenager after a car carrying six people crashed when the driver reportedly swerved to miss a kangaroo near Bundaberg.

The Bundaberg team arrived at the scene on the Bruce Highway near Monduran, west of Bundaberg, at 7.45pm on Sunday, March 17, 2025.

The car hit a road sign after swerving to avoid the animal.

One patient, aged in his teens, was flown to Bundaberg Hospital with a significant neck injury.

Five other patients were transported in a stable condition to Bundaberg Hospital by road.

The Bundaberg based LifeFlight team dispatched a helicopter to the scene around 7.45pm last night.
