BUNDABERG tech-lovers are ravenous for a bite of Apple’s latest product, the iPad.
Bundaberg Technology Solutions receptionist Donna Huth said the phones had been ringing off the hook with Bundaberg residents wanting to know when the product would arrive in town.
The iPad was unveiled on Wednesday and is similar to a laptop without a keypad, instead using a touchscreen to navigate the system which is similar to a computer without a disk drive.
“People are very excited about the new iPad,” Mrs Huth said.
“I know I will definitely be getting one when they come out.”
Mrs Huth said the most common question she had fielded was: “How soon can I get one?”
But while the iPad will be released in March in the US, Australians may be waiting until April before they see the latest Apple craze hit our shores.
Mrs Huth said the product would be perfect for travelling.
“My husband and I took our MacBook to Japan recently and the iPad will be great for that because it is so light,” she said.
“There have been a lot of people saying the iPad could replace school books.”
Mrs Huth said Bundaberg was full of Apple followers.
“All of the Apple gadgets are really popular around here, like the iPod, the iPhone, MacBooks and iMacs,” she said.
“Most of the people who like Apple are really up to date with new products. They like to know what is happening.”
Mrs Huth said she was a full-blown Apple fan.
“My husband and I buy all of the Apple products,” she said.
“The day the iPhone came out we were standing in line before the shops opened.
“All of their products are just so easy to use. They are so simple and everything they do is so well made.”
With many residents already on the waiting list, it seems Bundaberg likes the taste of this Apple.
