Six things Bundy drivers still can't get right

BLIND, ignorant of stop signs and inconsistent - these are just some of the labels motorists are applying to their fellow Bundaberg drivers.

BLIND, ignorant of stop signs and inconsistent - these are just some of the labels motorists are applying to their fellow Bundaberg drivers.

Locals say drivers haven't really improved much since an article ran in the NewsMail detailing our worst driving habits

It seems not much has changed according to readers.

1. Pedestrians? What pedestrians?

"Bundaberg people are absolutely blind when it comes to pedestrians," said Sam Maree.

"Twice (in one day) I had to get on my horn so the pedestrian stopped so they wouldn't get run over by the car that just ignored them approaching the crossing.

"The same happens at the lights when cars get the green light to turn at the same time a pedestrian gets to cross.

"I watched a poor Woolworths boy, attempting to cross with a large load of trolleys, have to pull up in the middle of the road, losing half of his line of trolleys, because the car that got a green light to turn didn't understand/give a crap that the pedestrian did as well and that you give way to the pedestrian."

2. Speeding up, slowing down, speeding up...

"What irritates me... when people go 60 in the 100 zones and then speed up when you can overtake," says Caytee Selena.

"But then speed when reaching the 80 zone.

"Or when people block an intersection.

"Or racing out in front of you at a round about without looking."

3. Driving dangerously to get to unimportant places

"White four-wheel drive overtook me on Elliot Hds Rd," said Jodie McNally.

"I was doing right on the speed limit, and they overtook me like I wasn't moving at all.

"I doubt if they had a real emergency, since they then sped off down Baker St and turned into the liquor store's car park."

4. Bundy drivers are just the worst, apparently

Courtney Leeanne Prevett said that Bundaberg drivers are the worst.

"...AndI lived in Sydney for 20 years," she said.

"Within the first 10 days living in Bundaberg I had countless near misses due to bad drivers.

"Than on the tenth day someone ran a red light and totalled my car. Wake up Bundaberg."

5. Stop right there

"No one seems to notice the stop signs up the main street," says Lisa Bawden.

Good enough.
Good enough.

6. Bad parking jobs

"Bundaberg drivers that pull into a park with back wheel on or over left line and front wheel on or over right line," bug Stephen Berthelsen.

Especially when they "... walk away thinking 'yeah good park'."
