They came, they cooked, they conquered. Here’s some of the best Bundy results from the Wide Bay Meat King 2022 awards.

The Australian Meat Industry Council of Queensland awarded its top prizes at their annual event over the weekend and Bundaberg came out on top.
The Wide Bay Meat King of 2022 competition decided which local butcher would take home the honours over 14 individual classes.
Entries were judged on a variety of factors including cooked and uncooked appearance, texture, taste, presentation and creativity of the recipe.
Zac’s Meats dominated the event winning six of the classes, such as the Australian Lamb/Open Class Sausage division with their Coconut Curry Sultana sausage.
Their smoked bacon also won them bacon rasher class, and the Pork Apple Walnut burger patty won the Best Butchers Gourmet/Open Class Burger class.
Bargara meats were close behind winning four classes with several other placings including the win in the Poultry sausage class with their chicken parmigiana sausage.
The event drew hundreds of entries at the Burnett Bowls Club for a successful day of judging by industry leaders and celebrity judges.
The winners of the regional classes will head onto the State finals in October.
