Sami Atkins voted best Bundaberg tattoo artist 2025
Sami Atkins, the owner and chief artist of The Tattoo House in Bundaberg West, has swept the competition away in this year’s search for the best tattoo artist in Bundaberg. Check out her story, and who made the top three:

Sami Atkins, the owner and chief artist of The Tattoo House in the Bundaberg West has swept up the competition in this year’s search for the best tattoo artist in Bundaberg.
The mother of one, won the competition with 23 per cent of the vote.
Zoe from Ferrara Ink Tattoo and Paul from Style Inkorporated, both tied for a close second with 17 per cent of votes each.
Ms Atkins said she was very “passionate about art” but her favourite thing about her line of work was giving clients a visual representation of a cherished memory, or loved one.
Her hope is “they can walk out and be proud to wear” the pieces they create together.
“Our line of work can give back to those suffering, going through grief, [or] just wanting cool art,” she said.
Ms Atkins has been working as a tattoo artist for 11 years and is happy to see a growing affinity for the art medium.
Over her career she said she has seen the “artistic side of tattooing” develop, as the art form becomes more normalised across the community.
“One of my all time favourites is reworks and cover up as they are so rewarding.
“I love seeing them come together and having the client happy.”
“It’s amazing what we can do now compared to what we could do when I started,” she said.
As a business owner and mother, Ms Atkins is incredibly busy, although she always has the time to sketch ideas for her clients.
Outside of work, she is slowly working on completing a portrait of her baby daughter using her favourite medium, graphite.
“I love drawing, if only there were more hours in the day,” she says.
Ms Atkins first opened her tattoo shop two and a half years ago, and for her third year, is hoping to expand to another location in Bundaberg.
