FINDING a free parking spot at Bundaberg Hospital and the CBD could be the plot of the next Mission Impossible film, according to residents.

The NewsMail asked its Facebook followers where they thought the worst place to park was in Bundaberg.

Out of more than 120 comments, Bundaberg Hospital was the top response.

"Hospital for sure,” Sam Jensen wrote.

"Sucks if you're trying to get to ED but you can't find a park,”

"The hospital. There should be somewhere for people who have appointments to park,” Christine Rose said.

In fact all hospitals and the CBD copped a drubbing on social media regarding inadequate parking options.

A Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service spokesman said although it had received only two formal complaints about car parking at Bundaberg Hospital since July 1 last year it was an issue that was regularly mentioned on various local social media pages and informally by visitors to the hospital.

"In recent years a new car park was constructed on the former pony club land adjacent to the University of Queensland Rural Clinical School, which can be accessed via an entrance on Bourbong St,” the spokesman said.

"This car park is rarely at capacity and the WBHHS encourages people to make use of the free parking provided there.

"This car park is five minutes walk from the main hospital, but there is shuttle transport available thanks to the Bundaberg Health Services Foundation golf cart.”
