Man suffers life-threatening injuries as cane truck rolls into Burnett River
A Bundaberg cane farm worker has suffered serious injuries after his vehicle rolled down an embankment and into the Burnett River.

A man in his 50s has been flown to the Bundaberg Hospital with life-threatening injuries after a cane hauling truck he was driving in the region rolled down a 30m embankment and landed in the Burnett River.
It’s believed the man was driving down a road to offload a sugar cane haul out truck when it rolled down an embankment and landed in a body of water.
Another person helped free the patient from the vehicle before calling emergency services.
Paramedics and fireys were called to the scene of the crash at Duingal, near the intersection of Duingal Rd, McLennan Dr, and Zillman Rd about 30km southwest of Bundaberg, about 10.30am on Friday.
The truck came to rest half submerged in the river.
The driver reportedly suffered life threatening head, pelvic, and possibly spinal injuries.
First responders arrived to find the man outside the cabin of the wrecked train.
They then undertook a vertical rescue operation to haul him from the river before loading him onto a waiting LifeFlight rescue helicopter.
