Rescue chopper goes to aid of Fraser Island visitors

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has travelled to Fraser Island to aid two unwell patients in separate incidents overnight.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has travelled to Fraser Island to aid two unwell patients in separate incidents overnight.

The Bundaberg rescue crew was tasked to Orchid Beach shortly after 7.00pm to airlift a teenage male with a medical condition.

The teenager was flown to Bundaberg Base Hospital.

He travelled in a stable condition with his mother at his side.

Shortly before 11.00pm, the Sunshine Coast-based helicopter was tasked to assist a woman in her 40s at Eurong, Fraser Island.

The woman from New South Wales had been holidaying on the island when she fell ill.

She was airlifted to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition for further medical treatment.
