A Bundaberg father, 32, has been revealed as a violent sexual predator after he orchestrated meeting his former partner and then raped her.
The man, who cannot be named for fear of exposing his victim, was sentenced before Judge Moynihan in Bundaberg District court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to one count of rape.
Crown prosecutor Luke Smoothy said on July 17 2022, the Bundaberg father, met with his former partner and took her to a secluded location.
Mr Smoothy said despite his ex-partners protests, the man dragged the woman from the car.
“He removed her pants and she screamed at him to stop”
Despite repeated pleas for him to stop, the court was told he continued the depraved assault.
These fresh rape charges come after the 32-year-old man was sentenced in relation to the repeated violent rape of another partner over a prolonged period of time.
He appeared via video link in green prison garb, currently serving a lengthy prison sentence for the separate offence that Mr Moynihan described as “abhorrent conduct”.
The court heard the father of two had previously contravened a domestic violence order and been charged with wilful damage in 2015.
In handing down his sentence, Judge Moynihan said referenced the 32-year-old man’s efforts to rehabilitate.
Mr Moynihan said he acknowledged the man’s history of drug abuse as being a relevant factor at the time of the offence in 2022.
He was sentenced to two years in prison, 853 days served spent in pre-sentence custody has not been declared.
His parole date remains as April 9, 2031 to coincide with the sentence he is currently serving for unrelated matters.
