Ambulance officers have rushed to Rules Beach, between Bundaberg and Agnes Water, following reports of a car fire.

Ambulance crews have rushed to an incident at Rules Beach, between Bundaberg and Agnes Water, following reports of a car fire.

A spokeswoman for the Queensland Ambulance Service said crews had been tasked to the rural location and were en route as of 4.30pm Wednesday.

It is believed a boy may have suffered smoke inhalation and had been removed from the car and taken to a nearby home.

The spokeswoman said there was a chance a rescue chopper may be called.
