Police target 'risky behaviour' on roads this holiday season

A Bundaberg man, who was caught drug driving in January and then again in February, will lose his licence for two months.

Appearing in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Thursday, Travis John Teske pleaded guilty to two counts of drug driving.

In the first incident, police stopped Teske in his sedan on Burrum St on January 30, 2022, just before 4pm.

A drug test revealed Teske had both meth and cannabis in his system at the time.

On the second occasion, on February 23, 2022, Teske was pulled over around 11am on Burrum St and once again tested positive for drugs.

Analysis showed Teske had meth in his system at the time.

The court heard Teske had no prior criminal history in the five years prior to the recent offending.

Teske told the court he had been going through a rough patch after issues in his relationship and said he was not aware that drugs would still be in his system at the time he was driving

He was convicted and fined $800 total for both offences, referred to SPER.

Teske was also disqualified from driving for two months.
