A man has been taken to hospital in a stable condition after he crashed into a tree on Bundaberg’s main strip.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said a ute crashed into a tree on Bourbong St, near Pacific Coffee, about 1.15pm today.

The male driver suffered unspecified injuries and is believed to have been taken to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.

The police spokeswoman confirmed two people were in the ute at the time of the crash, which blocked the westbound lane for a brief period of time.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said it was believed the man experienced a medical episode before the crash.

The female passenger was not reported to have been injured.

Emergency services cleared the lane and the road is now open.
