Emergency services are working on a gas main in Bundaberg after it was ruptured by a drill.
At 9.40am on Monday, a gas main rupture occurred on Perry Street in Bundaberg North when drilling equipment struck the line.
The Queensland Fire Department responded and was isolating the line.
An examiner has been called to assess the situation.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said that officers were assisting the firefighters on Perry St where the rupture occurred.
The police spokesman said that there was no need for a building evacuation.
The section of Perry St where the incident happened has been sectioned off to foot traffic, with no impact on road traffic.
Emergency services remain on site to monitor the situation and ensure public safety.
