Jack Lennard Brown appeared from custody by video link and pleaded guilty to six charges on Monday November 17, 2025.

Among the charges were possessing explosives, possessing medicines or hazardous poisons (Viagra), possessing shortened firearms, possessing or using a weapon under the influence of a liquor or drug, possessing weapons category A, B or M, and possessing a homemade taser.

Police prosecutor Leon Casey told the court police entered a Woodgate property at 10.25am on Saturday, November 16, where they found Brown, his co-defendant, a shortened firearm, Viagra, bullets, and a homemade taser, which used parts of a cattle prod, inside a walk-in robe.

When entering the property it’s alleged Brown was trying to hide the shortened firearm between the mattress and bed frame.

Mr Casey said he was most concerned about the weapons charges and sought a term of imprisonment as well as the forfeiture of the items.

“It’s concerning having weapons in the community,” he said.

“Weapons out in the community pose a risk to the community.”

Defence solicitor Matt Maloy said his client was given the items from a friend.

He told the court his client suffered from anxiety, ADHD, and personality disorder and was not medicated, but also suffered a drug addiction.

Brown had only been convicted of the weapon offence under the influence charge because he told police that he had taken meth some time before the raid.

Magistrate Michael Byrne acknowledged it was an early plea of guilty and that Brown had assisted police, but expressed concern towards his crimes.

“You clearly have an issue with drugs,” he said.

“Drugs and weapons are not a good combination.”

For possessing a shortened firearm Brown was sentenced to four months jail, suspended for 12 months.

He was fined $400 for the Viagra and convicted but not further punished for possessing a weapon while under the influence of a drug.

“That charge comes from your forthright admission to police,” Mr Byrne said.

For possessing the taser, barrel and receiver, and explosives he was put on probation for 12 months.

All items were to be forfeited to Queensland Police.
