An investigation into a Bundaberg police officer continues more than 12 months after the officer was suspended from duties.
Queensland Police Service confirmed this week that its internal investigation involving a Bundaberg Police Station was still going.
While it remains unclear the nature of the complaint or investigation, a Queensland Police Service spokesperson said in February 2023 that it was being “treated very seriously”.
This week a spokesperson said the investigation was ongoing and the officer remained suspended from duty.
They said the officer had been stood down since October 2022.
The investigation remains in the hands of the Crime and Corruption Commission Queensland, who work alongside Queensland Police Services Internal Investigation Group
“The Queensland Police Service is aware of a complaint and are treating the matter very seriously,” a Queensland Police spokesperson said in February.
“The allegations are under active investigation by the Ethical Standards Command, therefore no further comment can be provided at this stage.”
According to the Queensland Police website, the Ethical Standards Command investigates allegations of corruption, misconduct and serious breaches of discipline, including suspected unethical conduct.
The Crime and Corruption Commission Queensland was contacted but declined to comment.
