Hungry Tum restaurant robbed at knifepoint in Bundaberg

Police are investigating a terrifying armed robbery of one of Bundaberg’s most popular eateries. It comes just days after footage was released of another armed robbery in Bundaberg.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe may be able to help with investigations into the robbery of the Hungry Tum eatery on Saturday.

“Shortly before 5pm a man walked from McLean St, onto Bourbong Street and into the shop,” a police statement said.

“The man jumped the counter, brandished a knife and threatened staff, demanding cash.

“He fled the store with stolen money in a black backpack toward McLean St.”

Police are hoping that anyone in the area around that time with dash-cam or CCTV footage or relevant information could come forward.

Police say the suspect was thin and dressed in a black hoodie, black face mask, black shorts and black backpack with white shoes.

The suspect has not yet been caught and police are investigating.

The incident happened just days after police released video of a terrifying armed robbery at the Melbourne Hotel, which is still under investigation.
