YOUTH Week will begin with a bang in Bundaberg tomorrow with a launch party at the Bundaberg Plaza.

Bundaberg Regional Council youth development officer Andrea Bax said the party would be the first of many events planned for the week, which celebrates young people around Australia.

“All of the activities are designed by youth and for youth,” she said.

“The week will give the youth of Bundaberg a chance to do things they wouldn’t normally get to do.”

Mrs Bax said Youth Week also aimed to create a positive image of youth in the community.

“We have had a good response so far with lots of people wanting to be involved,” she said.

“The theme for Youth Week is ‘live it now’ which encourages kids to get out and try new things.

“The activities we have planned give them a chance to experience different things.”

The week includes:

Tomorrow – Youth Week Launch Party at the Bundaberg Plaza from 10am until 2pm with a DJ and giveaways.

Wednesday – Come and Try Sports Day at Kendalls Flats with archery, soccer, tae kwon do and a boot camp

obstacle course.

Thursday – Aerosol Art Workshop from 9am until noon and 1pm until 4pm at the YMCA. Interested youths can register at the School of Arts Building as places are limited.
