A man suffered minor burns and a cut to his head in a reported fireworks incident at a Bundaberg home on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews including firefighters rushed to the home in the suburb of Avoca shortly before 4pm after reports of smoke coming from the building.
Neighbours said they heard a loud bang shortly before emergency services arrived on the scene.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics treated a 54-year-old man for a minor burn to his underarm and legs, as well as a lacerations.
He had reportedly lit a firecracker in bed before suffering the burns.
He was transported to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
The incident happened less than 20 minutes after multiple firefighting crews were called to the scene of a serious house fire at Bundaberg North on Thursday, in which a two-storey home was engulfed in flames.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said fireys rushed to the scene and left five minutes after a search of the home determined there to be no ongoing fire danger.
The man was treated at a neighbouring property by emergency services.
