More than 30 riders have competed in the main class at the Dallarnil sports ground where District 7 of the National Barrel Horse Association had its last run of the season on Saturday.
Riders competed in more than 10 different events including youth barrel racing and a futurity run.
The highlight of the event was the Halloween run, a spooky barrel race where riders dressed themselves and their horses up in the best scary costume and raced the afternoon away.
Co-director of the event Cheyenne Welch said the Halloween run was a good way for the riders to take part as friends, not just competitors.
“We added the Halloween run to bring an added aspect of fun for the whole family and everyone can have a laugh to end out an amazing season of barrel racing,” she said.
“Following this event most riders will spell their beloved horses until our 2023 season is kicking off others will search out summer series and/or local rodeos.”
Riders will now look forward to the District presentations in November, where high points competitors will take home major prizes including buckles and other great prizes.
