Monto Show days huge success

THE Monto Show was another success this year with hundreds of people packing out the show grounds for the two-day event.

A full program kept visitors busy, with the smash and crash being a highlight of the event.

Resident Beryl Avis said the smash and crash derby was a huge success with Anthony Jasch taking out first prize in his “ambulance” car.

“It was a lot of fun,” she said.

“It was very popular so I think we’ll see it again.”

Mrs Avis said no one wanted to go home at the end of the show.

“We shut it down at about midnight and no one was very happy,” she said.

“People wanted it to keep going.”

Saturday also saw plenty of action with a dog show, goat show, stud cattle, team penning, woodchop, chainsaw racing, horse events, pavilion displays, trade displays, sideshow alley, ute muster and a visit from Kimbo the Clown with a bag full of fun and magic tricks.

“Overall it was a big success,” Mrs Avis said.
